Mindful Sounds

Walk with me on a new journey of discovery, as we explore ways to enliven the senses and befriend the mind, weaving sound and mindfulness into this supportive wellbeing practice.

This course is designed to offer an opportunity to engage with sound healing and mindfulness practices and explore how both can nourish body and mind and enrich moment to moment experience.

Since October 2019 I have been studying Mindfulness Based Interventions (including Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress-Reduction) and am nearing completion of my training. I first discovered sound in 2011 and have completed several professional trainings over the past 10 years. You can find full details of my experience and training here.

I am excited to be able to bring these two practices together in this unique programme. Both practices offer ways of experiencing meditation, with curiosity to whatever arises. Both may enhance receptivity and aliveness, sharpen the senses and perhaps develop new ways of seeing the world and relating to our experience.

Over 4-weeks we will learn several mindfulness practices and enjoy the nourishment of regular sound baths… a chance to pause and breathe each week, to soothe and restore.

Course Details:

April 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th; 7.30pm - 9pm

We will meet online, once per week for 1.5 hours over the course of 4 weeks.

Each week will include a mindfulness practice and a sound bath and an opportunity to discuss the experience of both, inquiring into what arises and learn from each other.

What’s included?

  • Sound immersion, with weekly sound baths

  • Mindfulness practices

  • Group discussion to support learning and integration

  • Recordings of the mindfulness practices to use for self-practice between classes (this is optional, there is no homework!).

  • A sound bath recording, to support diving deeper into sound through more regular practice.

The programme will be delivered over Zoom and an online streaming programme (no download needed) and a good set of earphones is essential to retain the sound quality of my instruments, from my home to yours.

Please contact me if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker (or similar device), or have epilepsy or tinnitus.

You are very welcome to join this programme as a newbie to either or both of these practices, or if you already have a practice and would like to explore this unique combination.
